Past the halfway point? More Paint and Undercarriage Work

There's never enough hours, particularly on the weekends when the days go by fast. Saturday I spent an inordinate amount of time paint stripping the nose gear flaps. I found three layers of paint--white, green and red. We don't know where this green paint is coming from, but it has shown itself in hints in the nose gear area with bits of over-spray here and there. Could it be the same color that is currently faded grey on the fuselage? Doubtful.  At any rate, that paint is history. Next came cleaning the nose wheel well--dirty and tedious, but it came out well. After a couple of hours shuttling other planes about, we managed to do some painting and re-assembling of the right main gear and the nose wheel gear. We'll have Zero Whiskey off her jack stands next weekend!!!

the red paint on the outside of the flaps was thick and included a layer of green.
Grungy like the rest of the over-greased nose wheel gear.
After a couple of hours of paint stripping while wearing a respirator. Notice the piano hinges.

The shininess is pleasing. Not shown is the new coat of white on the interior side of the flaps. The outside will be original red.
