Few Hours on the Mooney, but Always Time for a Fly-In

Since my last post, all the windows have been removed (except the front wind shields) and the holes for the new windows are drilled and countersunk.

We're simply matching the holes on the old windows. Here we are countersinking a hole.

The last of the plastic trim to be painted. Good thing--I'm out of paint.

The paint that has been stripped around the windows (before the old windows came out) saves the paint shop from accidentally damaging the new plexi. Ready to install the new ones, except for the windshields.
I enjoyed a few hours at the AOPA Fly-In in San Marcos, TX on 4/26/14. I really appreciate the fine show my organization displayed. Proud to be a member.
Admiring the Debonair sweepstakes plane.

I enjoyed reading the decals and would keep them if I won it.
The Debonair's new work horse manages 150 KTS and burns 13 GPH. Sorry, the Moonies have her beat.

Yes, I signed the petition. Can't you see me?

No caption necessary. A real beauty.

The first thing I thought of was the old Batman helicopter.

The new Socata TBM900. Cool!

A handcrafted Great Lakes Biplane by Waco. Fully aerobatic. Mighty fine.

The latest Eclipse.

Impressive performance.

I'm particularly impressed with the small size of the nacelles.

The diameter looks to be about 12-14".
Carbon fiber inner walls. Also note the extremely tight tolerance of the fan blades to the cowling.

Last, but not least, one of our own.
